Black Desert Mobile aims to replicate the gameplay and sandbox features of the PC version on smartphones. However, unfortunately, not all features from the original Black Desert Online will make it to the smartphone.
Black Desert Online is getting a smartphone version with Black Desert Mobile. The mobile adaptation looks fantastic and is hardly inferior to the original. However, those who expected the mobile version to have as many features and content as the PC version might be disappointed.
The developers had to change or remove some content to optimize the game for smartphones. Both for better and worse.
Black Desert Mobile is its own game!
Black Desert Mobile is not the client of Black Desert Online on mobile. There is no crossplay between mobile and PC. Rather, the mobile version is its own game with unique features that largely mirror the PC version:
- At launch, there will be the regions of Balenos, Serendia, and Calpheon
- Combat gameplay will focus on fast-paced action, but from an isometric perspective (diagonally above)
- There will be world bosses, live skills (including fishing, mining, and horse breeding), and massive siege battles
- At launch, the classes will include Warrior, Valkyrie, Witch, Ranger, and Berserker
Limited world and no awakening? – This is what’s missing in the mobile version of Black Desert!
However, the developers had to remove or change some features from the PC version for Black Desert Mobile. This includes both enhancements and compromises. Players looking to upgrade their gear on mobile will always see the success percentage and may be able to enhance it with additional upgrade stones.
Also cool: According to Steparu and statements from the developers, there will be no Pay2Win progression through randomly generated paid content in Black Desert Mobile.
However, concerning is the announcement that there will likely be about 30 to 40 players per “zone”. This does not sound very much like a large, open, and largely seamless world, as you had in Black Desert Online on PC. Additionally, there are said to be no awakening skills on mobile.
The graphics of Black Desert on mobile already look fantastic! Even the character editor of Black Desert Mobile is beautiful!
