Pearl Abyss wants to introduce the “remastered” version of the MMORPG Black Desert for the first time in August. The graphics and music of the game will be revamped. What can players expect?
As early as the end of 2017, Pearl Abyss announced that they have big plans for Black Desert Online:
- Black Desert is set to be released on Xbox One in 2018. It will later also be available on PS4.
- The development team is eyeing the Switch as a platform.
- A remaster aims to keep the game fresh in the future. They want to go into more detail about the overhaul in August during a reveal event.
Reveal event in August shows Black Desert for the first time in 4K
When does the stream start? On August 11, the reveal event will take place. Players can join the event at 8 AM our time via the Black Desert Twitch channel .
What content does the event have? Pearl Abyss will present the revamped version of Black Desert. During the event, there will be a performance of the new soundtrack, and players will be able to see Black Desert in 4K for the first time.
Additionally, Pearl Abyss will talk about future updates.
What can players expect from the remaster?
Black Desert 2.0: Pearl Abyss has not held back and is giving the graphics and music a makeover. The game should still look great and sound good in the coming years.
More beautiful music. A total of three symphony orchestras in Germany (Halle), Hungary (Budapest), and the Czech Republic (Prague) are working on new music for the game. 40 of the 240 regions of Black Desert will be enriched by new sounds.
The Korean composer MD Ryu is responsible for the musical remastering. He wants to enhance the players’ “immersion” through the new music, allowing players to better merge with the world of Black Desert.
New effects. The graphics are being polished in collaboration with Silicon Studio. New visual effects aim to make Black Desert more beautiful so that it still looks good long after 2018.
For this, both companies are using the YEBIS software. YEBIS enables developers to enhance the graphics of Black Desert through various post-processing effects.
