The MMORPG Black Desert has banned the player “RisingSun”, the strongest player in Europe. However, the ban duration is not forever; it’s for a ridiculous 274 years. We at MeinMMO interviewed RisingSun in July 2020 when the 29-year-old from Stuttgart had just reached level 67 as the first in Europe after 837 days.
What kind of ban is this?
- Pearl Abyss, the operators of Black Desert, has banned the player RisingSun.
- The game ban lasts until January 3, 2297.
- The reason for the ban is the “creation and use of unauthorized software”.
Who is this player? The man’s real name is Florian, he is from Stuttgart and is 29 years old. On Twitch, he streamed under the name “PvEnvironment”.

Black Desert, like other Korean games, does not have a fixed “level hard cap”, but it continues to increase indefinitely. However, the experience points required for a level-up increase so extremely that hardly anyone seriously attempts a level-up.
Players say: If he cheated, then it’s good that he was caught
How is his ban being discussed now? On Reddit, people are already discussing whether everything is above board when someone plays at level 67.
There are suspicions that the player might have used macros to make leveling easier. If that was the case, then the ban would be okay.
Others say: There is even one at level 68 and several at level 67 – therefore leveling itself is okay.
Player banned afk at the dummy – No one feels guilty
What does the player say himself? The player does have a Discord and a Twitter channel, but he does not comment on the ban there. Only on Twitch can you hear his thoughts.
On Twitch, he is asked whether he is still an “ambassador” for Black Desert or if he has lost that status as well. He replies that it is still “Research” – so it seems that his case is still being reviewed.
He seems to be surprised by the ban. When a Twitch user said: “WTF”, he said: “Yeah, I thought so a few times today too.”
He was banned while standing by the dummy. He claims not to feel guilty. According to RisingSun, “many have been banned, in all regions”:
I know that there was a wave of bans today and very many were banned in all regions. Apparently all because of macros while AFK fishing or by the dummy. This is being investigated now, and we’ll see.
He stated that he turned on the stream despite the ban and has now had 8 hours to calm down. At first, he was probably puzzled about what he could do against the ban, but he has since done everything he can. Now, he apparently has no choice but to wait for Pearl Abyss’s decision. He seems to feel no guilt.
