Currently, maintenance is taking place in the Asia MMORPG Black Desert on March 11th. This will change with today’s patch.
This morning, maintenance has been running for Black Desert, and the servers are offline – they should be back online by 3:00 PM. By then, the maintenance work for Black Desert should be completed.
Publisher Daum is currently deploying a patch that fixes some annoying issues. It was originally scheduled for next week, but due to urgent reasons, it has been moved forward. It’s probably related to gold sellers.
Among other things, the following changes will take place:
- The character limit in chat will be increased to 350 characters.
- In the marketplace, capitalization will no longer matter to find the right item.
- The knowledge window can now be opened at any time.
- The issue with the Liverto Staff for wizards has been fixed – the staff was previously missing because it was part of the Mediah update in Korea.

Gold Sellers’ Exploit Will Be Closed
The most important reason for the patch was an exploit that allowed gold sellers to continue their “profession”. This should not be possible with Black Desert’s systems. However, they apparently found a way: the gold seller purchased healing potions, gave them to the “gold buyer” in-game, and the buyer could sell them to an NPC for silver profit.
With today’s patch, traded items will be bound to characters and cannot be traded anymore.
Further changes that today’s patch brings will be added later. Fans are especially inquiring about changes in class balance.
