Black Desert has a hacker and botter problem. In the current ban wave, Kakao Games is banning over 700 players who have used third-party programs to gain an unfair advantage.
Hackers are wreaking havoc in Black Desert
Hackers are destroying the economy: Hackers cause chaos in Black Desert. They use speed hacks to farm silver in the Hystria ruins and then buy rare resources with it. Hackers can farm 100 to 200 million silver per hour with this method.

Furthermore, some players are using speed hacks to mess around in PvP, allowing them to spam their abilities without cooldowns. This ruins the game for their teammates.
Kakao Games responds
So many players were banned: In a ban wave, Kakao Games identified 738 accounts that were using unauthorized software. These accounts are divided into two groups:
- 356 accounts that used software to increase their movement or attack speed.
- 382 accounts that used software to automate certain in-game processes.
The damage has already been done
Players appreciate the bans: Players are pleased that Kakao Games is taking action against hackers, disrupting their fun. However, the damage to the game’s economy has already been done. Some players are therefore suggesting a separate server for hackers where players can freely use third-party software without worrying about getting banned.

But as a user says on the subject: “Cheaters get bored extremely quickly when the advantage they have over other players disappears.” If all players cheat on the server, all players are equally strong.
But more must be done: Hackers continue to be a problem in Black Desert and create frustration among players. One player demands: “Well done Kakao Games, please double the number next week.”
