In Black Desert there are concrete statements about the release of the Awakening weapons – it’s starting next week!
Warriors receive their weapon first
The Awakening weapons are one of the most eagerly anticipated features in the European (and American) version of Black Desert. The weapons give each class a brand new twist, complement them with new abilities, and provide an overall different gameplay experience – not to mention that they also massively increase the character’s power.
In the official forum, Community Manager Aethon has now written a long post about when the Awakening weapons will be released. The brief answer: sooner than expected!
Already on August 31, 2016, the Awakening for the Warrior will be patched into the game. From that point on, another weapon will be brought into the game every 2 weeks, so that by the end of the year all characters can collect their Awakening weapon. In two weeks, the weapon of the Sorceress will follow.
This deviates from the original plans to actually release all Awakening weapons at the same time to avoid problems with game balance. However, the developers have now decided to take this step in order to have a two-week time window to address any issues with a weapon. It is much easier to identify problems when only a few changes have been made to the game.
Some Awakenings will be introduced simultaneously for classes whose male and female counterparts play (almost) identically. For example, Maewha and Musa will receive their weapon at the same time, as will Sorcerers and Sorceresses. This way, the schedule can be maintained until the end of the year.
