In Black Desert, the auto loop feature for long distances has been activated. This allows for skill leveling while asleep.
Progressing in Black Desert while being AFK
This week, the European developers of Daum asked what players think about an auto-loop feature in Black Desert. In Korea, this is part of the game; until now, it was missing in the West. In the forum, interested parties could vote on the decision, and the result was quite clear. More than 80% voted in favor of introducing this feature.
But what does it actually bring? Those who want to can now command their character to march up and down the same route repeatedly. This can be done either traditionally on foot or on horseback. When using a horse, there is the additional option to regularly feed it carrots when its stamina is running low. Since in Black Desert, both the horse and the player become stronger as they cover distances (with and without load), this can be used for skill leveling.
In the Korean version, players would heavily load their heroes and then have them walk back and forth a few meters in the city to increase their carrying capacity. Or they let their character ride across the continent multiple times with the computer on while they themselves are sleeping or at work.

The feature is incredibly easy to activate: You simply have to right-click to mark a waypoint on the map, then press the ALT key and hover over your character’s icon until the marked route turns green. With a left-click, you confirm, and voila: The character will traverse the predetermined route up and down for all days (or until the server maintenance).
This is especially useful for players who have little time or want their character to do something useful even when they themselves have no time to play.
We have discussed this “AFK feature” in this article.
