Why has it rained so long in Anthem? While players are already coming up with their own theories, a developer has now clarified.
Players talk about the weather: In recent weeks, it has often rained in the world of Anthem. So often that some Freelancers have already wondered if the weather is part of something bigger:
Is the weather a harbinger of a big event? Are these perhaps the first signs of a Cataclysm, or does the singing Monument have something to do with it?

Some players in the Anthem subreddit even assumed that it just had to be this way: It rains constantly in Anthem.
Players ask developers: Recently, players on Reddit asked BioWare developer Brenon Holmes about the weather. A post discussed how it feels for some players that they now have a shorter flight time. However, the Javelin’s thrusters were only buffed with patch 1.04, which was supposed to lead to an extension of the flight time by about 25%.
According to Holmes, it might feel that way because it is not raining as much now. Rain would reduce the time to overheating by another 35%.
What’s up with the rain: Players became alert and asked the Technical Design Director whether it was unintentional that it has rained so long or if there is really something bigger behind it.
Holmes explained that the rainy weather was not unintentional, but part of the current weather forecast. BioWare uses a simulation to determine how the global weather in Anthem will be in the near future. The developer can check and tell players what the weather will be in Anthem next weekend.
After a request from the community, Holmes passes on the idea to other developers to display the current weather forecast on the news screen when starting the game.
