The Lower Saxony Twitch streamer Mark “ohnePixel” (25) has become one of Germany’s biggest streamers due to the current hype surrounding CS:GO. When he unexpectedly went offline for a few days, some fans feared the worst.
Who is the streamer? ohnePixel is a German CS:GO streamer living in the Netherlands. In his videos and streams, he speaks English. The 25-year-old has been active on Twitch since March 2020, but his channel only gained momentum in the summer of 2021.
The announcement of the successor Counter-Strike 2 in March 2023 marked the beginning of a huge hype around the shooter, which has otherwise aged. ohnePixel, whose content consists of almost 95% Counter-Strike, was able to meet the new demand perfectly (via TwitchTracker).
He gained more than half of his 623,000 followers on Twitch alone from March to May 2023 (via sullygnome).
Is he doing well? Yes, based on what we currently know, ohnePixel is alright. If you’ve come across any other information on social media in the last few days, you might have fallen for some nasty rumors. Because on TikTok and Twitter, news about the streamer’s death has been circulating.
Viral video suggests the death of the streamer
Where do the rumors come from? After ohnePixel covered the BLAST Paris Major in May, he began streaming a bit less. He was last on air on June 8. There was no major announcement or prediction about when he will return.
While the streamer urged his fans on Discord with the message “let me cook for 1 or 2 more days” on June 12 to let him do his thing, for those who didn’t see that message, a TikTok video released on June 14 must have been a shock.
In the video on the ohnepixel channel, it is suggested that the streamer has passed away. It was likely meant to be a joke, but not everyone among the more than 2 million people who have seen the video so far may realize that.
As a result, there are numerous comments asking whether the streamer is really dead or questioning what happened. Many also simply wish the 25-year-old to rest in peace.
Even other streamers, like ohnePixel’s Counter-Strike colleague PSP1G, got involved. He spread the alleged death news on Twitter:
MontanaBlack gives the all-clear
Where is ohnePixel? As MontanaBlack reported in a stream on June 15, ohnePixel is likely undergoing a minor operation and is also in the process of moving.
The streamer has previously discussed a possible move to Switzerland and mentioned that there may be issues with the neighbors due to his streaming career. The internet has also posed difficulties.
From ohnePixel himself, there has been no word on Discord, Twitch, or Twitter since his last message. So we will have to wait to see what the streamer has to say about his alleged demise when he returns.
