Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter is the largest gaming YouTuber in the world – at least according to YouTube itself. In a stream, she has accidentally shown how much she earns. Her monthly income is likely to exceed the annual salary of many of you.
Who is Valkyrae? The streamer, who is part of the e-sports organization 100 Thieves, has been streaming exclusively on YouTube since early 2020. At that time, YouTube snagged various big Twitch streamers to build up its gaming section, including Valkyrae.
Immediately after the switch from Twitch, things initially went poorly for Valkyrae. The views didn’t come in right away, and there was even less revenue than before her time on YouTube. Only later, in the summer of 2020, did the numbers suddenly explode, when Among Us became a hit out of nowhere.
Valkyrae benefited the most from this boom. In October 2020, she was crowned the greatest gaming YouTuber in the world by the head of YouTube Gaming, Ryan Watt. Currently, her channel has over 2.64 million subscribers. It seems to be paying off, as it turns out now.

According to the screenshot, Valkyrae earned a whopping $172,908.21 in 28 days. That’s over €142,000. And she actually earned 6% less than in the previous 28 days, according to the breakdown shown.
These are just the earnings she receives from monetizing videos on YouTube, without potential partnerships and sponsors.
How does that compare? What Valkyrae earns is already a substantial sum. However, the best-paid gamers on Twitch, YouTube, and others according to our list from January 2020 earn even more. At the top was Tyler “Ninja” Blevins with $17 million a year.
There is also competition for Valkyrae on YouTube itself. The biggest is a little boy. Because currently a 9-year-old child is earning the most money on YouTube. Ryan Kaji runs a channel about toys and makes more money than well-known YouTubers like Markiplier. Stars like PewDiePie don’t even appear in the top 10.
