The remaster of an old classic, Diablo II: Resurrected, excites many fans. Actually, it is already finished as a remake. A major streamer accidentally spoke about an “Act 6.” However, it doesn’t exist (yet).
This is what the streamer says: MrLlamaSC is one of the biggest and most well-known streamers for Diablo II. He has made a name for himself as a speedrunner and played original Diablo II for 4 years for the holy grail.
He also played Resurrected and has engaged a lot with the game. He even trained for a World First in Diablo II to be among the first to defeat all bosses.
However, during one of his recent streams on January 23rd, something slipped out. He answered a viewer’s question about an item: “You want the standard of heroes to do something? Well, if Act 6… yes, it would be great if they would give the item something useful.”
After his slip regarding Act 6, he stammered for a moment, and it seemed like he was considering how to finish the sentence. In fact, there are only 5 acts in Diablo 2, including the expansion Lord of Destruction. Shortly after the scene, he ended his stream.
How likely is an expansion? That MrLlama meant a different act is unlikely; after all, he does not correct himself. As a major streamer, it is possible that he is in contact with Blizzard and knows more.
Furthermore, it is already known that developer Vicarious Visions plans to bring new content to the game. Some of this is already visible, such as the new rune words from the first ladder of Resurrected.
However, there has been no information from Blizzard or Vicarious Visions regarding new acts. If a new act does come, it would probably also be associated with a whole expansion. This was the case with Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III: Reaper of Souls.
The expansion would be the first new addon for Diablo II in 21 years. Lord of Destruction was released in 2001.
Diablo II: Resurrected is set to grow – Is an expansion with a new act coming?
Blizzard and the developers want to continue working on Diablo II: Resurrected. In a previous interview, it was already stated that games are no longer released as “finished.” Diablo is a living game, a “live service.”
However, whether this means that an Act 6 or an expansion is coming, we cannot say. A new act would also mean a new boss that would somehow have to fit into the story of Diablo.
However, we know for sure that new content is coming. On the PTR, Patch 2.4 with the first ladder is being tested starting January 25th. Already in this, there are new rune words, new recipes for the Horadrim Cube, and changes for all classes.
However, whether the developers will go as far as to bring a new expansion, we cannot say yet. In any case, many fans wish for Diablo II to continue. The game is more complex than Diablo III and has a distinct player base.
What do you think, is an expansion likely? What boss would be the final boss of Act 6? What new class would you wish for? Leave us a comment!
Whether Act 6 will come, we do not know – just as little as when the ladder will start. But we can already introduce you to other hack ‘n’ slashes that are set to appear in 2022:
