What is the statement about? In April 2020, Gladd posted a statement on Twitter. The worst part about having sex with a hamster is that there’s blood everywhere. He would now have to buy a new one. That would somehow be number 13. It annoys him.
That was apparently a very strange joke.
Why is he facing backlash? A user contacted Gladd and said, “Do you remember the statement about the hamster?” Then he shared an email from the marketing department of DXRacer.
The user apparently reported Gladd to DXRacer: He shared Gladd’s hamster tweet with the gaming chair company. DXRacer is a manufacturer of gaming chairs, which acts as a sponsor for Gladd.
They then wrote: They love animals. Gladd’s behavior violates the brand’s values. They distance themselves from the statement, find it completely wrong, and decided to part ways with Gladd.
“He must have always eaten alone in school!”
This is how the streamer reacts: Gladd then posted on Twitter rather abruptly: “Fuck these internet cancel culture sheep. He must have always eaten alone in school. Pussies!”
He does not regret what he said at all. He does not apologize for anything. He is tired of being judged by people.
Two days later, he had calmed down a bit. Then he called on his fans to behave. They would now go after people who attack him. The fans only wanted to defend him, but that’s not okay.
He thinks that although this cancel culture is bullshit, it’s an even bigger mistake to go after others. He does not want that either.
