On the 13th of February, the new hack ‘n slash Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem will be released. The release trailer is already whetting the appetite for the Diablo 4 competitor.
What can be seen in the trailer? You will see plenty of gameplay scenes from Wolcen. This naturally includes intense battles against numerous enemies. You will be shown different landscapes such as deserts, dark forests, and of course, plenty of dungeons.
There are also some snippets from the cutscenes to admire. Because Wolcen places great importance on the story, which is presented in a very cinematic way. In addition, the trailer shows you some of the apocalyptic forms you can take to deal particularly high damage to your opponents. All of this looks really spectacular. It makes you want to start playing yourself.
Isn’t this Diablo 4?
What does the video remind you of? If you didn’t know it was Wolcen, it could easily be a new trailer for Diablo 4. Wolcen really looks very similar to Blizzard’s upcoming action RPG. This is due to the dark and realistic graphic style and of course the typical isometric perspective.
When does Wolcen start? The release will take place on the 13th of February at approximately 18:00. However, you can also already get the hack ‘n slash through Steam in early access and play Act 1.
Is there a wipe? Yes. Shortly before the start of the game on the 13th of February, there will be a reset. All players will then start from the beginning. Everything you earned during the early access phase will be gone. This is to create a fair entry.
Can you play cooperatively? Wolcen offers a co-op mode where you can slash through hordes of monsters with up to four players. Of course, you can also play alone.

The anticipation is high
This is how players react to the trailer: The responses are almost universally positive. What is shown in the trailer is very well received and makes you want to finally be able to play Wolcen properly – and not just in early access.
- SadisticDM writes on reddit: “This looks pretty badass. I admit, I haven’t really followed it and saw it a long time ago and ignored it. It might make it onto my list.”
- Okatis says: “I was pleasantly surprised. It looks great.”
- Mistake says in a comment on the youtube video: “Bought it yesterday and completed the beta, and I am impressed! I am looking forward to it!”
