The Twitch streamer Asmongold is known for speaking his mind clearly and has no reservation in his opinions. He appeared unconcerned when he dropped the words “virgin”, “simp”, and “incel”. He wanted to see if Twitch would actually enforce any rules.
Who is Asmongold?
- He is the largest MMORPG streamer on Twitch with over 48,000 average viewers and more than 3.2 million followers.
- His main game for years has been World of Warcraft and he also actively streams it on his second channel. Additionally, he has been playing Lost Ark since its release and broke his previous viewer record.
- Furthermore, Asmongold received the title of “best MMORPG streamer” on Twitch.
- During a past stream, he watched a video discussing how the words “virgin”, “simp”, and “incel” are banned on the platform. Asmongold saw this as a challenge and included all three in sentences directed at viewers on Twitch.

Asmongold conducts the test: Will he get banned for saying simp, incel, and virgin?
What do the words mean?
- Simp: In short, a simp is a man who would do anything for a female streamer and gives her a massive amount of attention. This happens through messages, donations, or other support. You can find more details in our article: Twitch deletes emotes related to “Simp” – What is a Simp?
- Incel: Incels refer to a culture of heterosexual men who involuntarily do not have sex but believe they are entitled to it. The term originated from the words “involuntary” and “celibate”.
- Virgin: This is the English word for virgin. It is often used to accuse people of being “unable to get a partner”.
Why are they banned on Twitch? The words have often been used on Twitch to denounce and insult certain user groups. The platform eventually found this unacceptable and decided to impose consequences in the form of bans whenever chatters or streamers used those words.
What did the streamer do? Asmongold stated that he had no awareness of the ban on these words and was surprised. At the same time, he challenged Twitch:
I think that people who are upset about hot-tub streams are virgins. I think that people who have subscribed at level 3 to them are simps. And I think that people who comment on and get upset about what I’m saying regarding hot-tub streams are incels.
I believe we will see if I get banned tomorrow, right?
Asmongold
He is testing this to see if the rule actually exists. Asmongold believes: if he is not banned, then this policy does not exist. He cannot believe that using these words is no longer allowed.
Moreover, then hundreds of users would also need to be banned, as they were spamming incel, simp, and virgin in the chat.
