Kakao Games, the former publisher of the MMORPG Black Desert Online, announced 5 online games for the West. Among them are three MMORPGs and two MMOs, with 4 of them set to be released in 2021.
What are these MMORPGs?
- Odin: Valhalla Rising is set to be released for PC and mobile devices and makes a great impression visually in early videos and screenshots. Your adventure will take you to well-known places like Midgard, Jötunheim, Nidavellir, and Alfheim. Your hero, which you create from four classes, will use flying mounts like dragons, pegasi, or giant moths and ships to explore the open world. The release is planned for 2021.
- Elyon. The MMORPG reminiscent of a kind of Tera 2 aims to combine PvP and PvE. The game offers 6 classes and aims to impress with particularly fast and action-packed combat along with a steampunk scenario. A beta is about to start, which you can participate in. Elyon is also scheduled for a 2021 launch.
What are these MMOs?
- Eternal Return: Black Survival is a mix of MOBA and Battle Royale. You awaken on a mysterious island where a shady organization conducts experiments on humans. You search for resources and food like in a survival game and build weapons. Now you fight each other until there is only one survivor left. The game is played from a top-down perspective and in anime style. The game is set to come in the second half of 2021.
- The survival game Dysterra starts similarly to Eternal Return but focuses on a first-person perspective and more shooter elements. Besides the survival elements like searching for food and crafting equipment, you participate in large battles. Additionally, there will be major events that promise rewards. Dysterra is also planned for the second half of 2021.
The new ArcheAge 2 is also coming through Kakao Games
ArcheAge 2 is also one of the MMORPGs being distributed in the West by Kakao Games. Not much is known yet about the successor to the popular sandbox MMORPG by developer Jake Song. It utilizes the new Unreal Engine 5, once again offers an open world where you encounter new races, and housing as well as naval battles play a significant role.
ArcheAge 2 is set to be released on multiple platforms with a focus on PC. However, the release is not planned until 2024.
