Recently, the new Battlefield 2042 was officially revealed, many new details are now known. But there are also some big question marks – such as a potential Battle Royale mode. Because at launch, there will not be such a mode.
What has been leaked? In a tweet, a user asks if there are any further details about the recently leaked Battlefield Hub as well as a Battle Royale mode in the upcoming Battlefield 2042. In response, the well-known leaker Tom Henderson stated that there will be such a mode next year.
He also revealed that it might not be possible to make the skyscrapers in the cities completely collapse, but at least significantly damage them.
Who leaked this? Tom Henderson aka LongSensationYT is a well-known figure in the gaming community who has made headlines with precise, accurate leaks and predictions about shooters like Call of Duty. He has already disclosed numerous details about Battlefield 2042 in advance, including the game’s name, which is not, as often assumed, called Battlefield 6.
Additionally, he had predicted the release of CoD Warzone long before it came out. His statements are therefore more than mere speculation and should be taken seriously. Nevertheless: These are not official details, so enjoy it all with a healthy dose of skepticism and caution.
Will Battlefield 2042 get its own Warzone?
What could the BR mode for Battlefield look like? Further in Henderson’s tweet, speculation arose about what this Battle Royale might entail. It was revealed that it would probably only be a model like Call of Duty’s Warzone.
So, a standalone game that would be decoupled from Battlefield 2042 and must be free-to-play. Because that was the big reason why the previous Battle Royale mode Firestorm from the last Battlefield is hardly played anymore.
One had to buy Battlefield V for this and was firmly tied to this game. Activision solved this much more elegantly with Warzone, which exists as a standalone free-to-play game and unites all CoD titles from Modern Warfare 2019. The previously mentioned and also leaked Battlefield Hub by Henderson could hit the same mark.
