Grand Theft Auto 6 has already been officially announced by Rockstar. However, the developers have not yet released more information about GTA 6. Due to a massive leak, however, there is now a lot of material from the development on September 18 – around 90 videos have been leaked. MeinMMO summarizes the most important findings.
With GTA 6, the popular action series Grand Theft Auto enters the next round. Information about the title was well protected for a long time; even the official announcement by developer Rockstar came almost as a surprise. Although it was an open secret that work was being done on it.
But now it has happened. A leaker has released an incredible amount of material from the development of GTA 6. The well-connected industry insider Jason Schreier describes the action as the “biggest leak in Rockstar’s history”. In the meantime, Schreier has had the leak confirmed by contacts at Rockstar. GTA 6 – The big leak
Where did the leak come from? The files were shared on the “GTAForums” by the user “Teaportuberhacker” (via gtaforums). There is a file with nearly 3.4 GB and about 90 videos, all with short gameplay scenes from development.
Many videos are very short and only show snippets from the development process. The longest video is a 3-minute gameplay scene of a heist with Pulp-Fiction vibes (via youtube.com).
The leaker states that he made good friends with some employees at Rockstar and managed to join a developer group on the chat program Slack. This is where he was able to collect the videos.
What old information has been confirmed? In 2018, a small leak circulated. At that time it was said that GTA 6 would have a female main character and would take place in Vice City, a GTA version of Miami in Florida, USA.
Both have now been confirmed by the leak – the female main character is reportedly named Lucia, and police cars bear the inscription V.C.P.D.: Vice City Police Department.
The female main character was already “confirmed” in a leak from July. At that time there were further details, reported by industry insider Jason Schreier, who has now also confirmed the latest leak:

What new information is there? The name of the second main character is Jason. As in GTA 5, you will likely be able to switch characters during the story. One scene suggests, however, that this may not be possible at all times during the game, but only in certain rooms.
Otherwise, many scenes remind of the gameplay experience of GTA 5. They confirm that many features of the predecessor will also be found in GTA 6:
- Nightclubs
- Subway system
- Stunt points
- Outfit changes
- Heists
- Police chases
- Cover system
Additionally, a conversation between passersby can be heard, discussing the death of Jay Norris. He was the CEO of the fictional company Life Invader in GTA 5. This would mean that GTA 6 takes place chronologically after GTA 5.
Moreover, “lying down” and “crawling on the ground” could be added as new movement actions, and you can carry bodies.
