In WoW the party for the 10th anniversary of Hearthstone started yesterday, on March 11, 2024. With it: cool rewards, but also some problems and confused players. We will tell you how to secure the Fiery Pegasus and the other goodies.
What is the anniversary party in WoW about? Hearthstone is celebrating its 10th birthday. And since the digital card game and World of Warcraft both come from Blizzard, the developers use this milestone for a cross-promo event where you can secure some nice in-game rewards.
Unlocking the Fiery Pegasus mount for your stable in World of Warcraft is particularly easy. Simply log into Hearthstone from March 11 to May 14, 2024, and you’re done! Only if you have never played the card game, you need to at least complete the short tutorial to earn the mount. Hearthstone is free.
What other rewards are there? In the capitals Valdrakken (on top of the pillar in the Emerald Enclave), Stormwind (at the harbor) and Orgrimmar (in front of the entrance, in Durotar), special Hearthstone tournaments are taking place from March 11 to March 18, 2024, which you can join.
The next big milestone for WoW – the expansion The War Within:
Once per hour, Wurbelflitz appears at these locations, summoning portals. From those, servants flow out that you should strike back. This way, with a bit of luck, you can earn cards for your deck and the following rewards:
- Mount: Compass Rose
- Pet: Sarge
- Collector’s bag with 36 slots
- Tavern Cloak
- Hearthstone: Hearthstone
- Transmog: Reno’s Lucky Hat
- Transmog: Belt of the Tavern-Goer
More rewards can be achieved through achievements:
- Toys: Hearthstone Play Table (you receive it when you own ten different cards – Achievement: Hearthstone Beginner)
- Achievement: Hearthstone Card Collection (you receive it when you own all 21 cards)
What else do I need to know? When you log into WoW, you should find an invitation for the party in your mailbox. The document will lead you to Ceremony Master Ferala in Valdrakken, who will supply you with the quest “Play Hearthstone” and a starter pack of cards.
This quest initially caused long waiting times, because only two players can compete against each other at a table. What many heroes of Azeroth overlooked: You can also just stand near a table and activate the item “Wild Hearthstone Card” in your inventory to start a match and thus complete the quest.
Tip: A shady vendor in Valdrakken (coordinates 61/59) sells you a pack of five wild Hearthstone cards for 20 silver.
What other problems were there? The regularly spawning troops of Wurbelflitz caused trouble in several ways. On the one hand, there were sometimes severe server problems, including the rollbacks
of some realms, which reset characters to an earlier state.
On the other hand, the portals in Stormwind appeared in significantly higher numbers for a time, allowing some Alliance players to reach the aforementioned rewards more quickly. According to WoWhead, the bug has since been fixed.
