Those waiting for Beyond Good & Evil 2 must be brave. Because the game will likely take several more years to arrive. A first beta should be available by the end of 2019. The release will probably be even further away.
At E3 2017, Beyond Good & Evil 2 was revealed, and this year’s E3 followed with another trailer that fueled fans’ hopes. Was the development going well? Could we perhaps soon dive into the game and wreak havoc as a space pirate? This has now been ruled out. On Instagram, Game Director Michel Ancel explained that a beta for Beyond Good and Evil 2 is planned for the end of 2019.
Meanwhile, no official release date has been mentioned. Presumably, the developers simply have not set a date yet.
Beta 2019 – Release 2020? Fans suspect that a release will not happen before 2020, which sounds logical if the beta only takes place at the end of 2019. However, since Beyond Good & Evil 2 is supposed to be quite large, a beta phase could also take longer. Most fans are betting on a release in the summer of 2020 – so in almost two years.
Players involved in development: Meanwhile, fans are even having a significant impact on the development of Beyond Good & Evil 2. They can immortalize themselves in the game with their own artworks and are even paid if their works are ultimately used. Even Hollywood star Joseph Gordon-Levitt is rallying for the cause:
Can you still wait so long for Beyond Good & Evil 2? Or do you not believe that the developers can keep to the schedule with such a large project?
