In the Viking survival MMO Valheim, there are many deadly dangers. But none follows you through the entire game as much as the trees. They are everywhere and can mean your end at any time.
This happens in Valheim: Like in typical survival games, for example Rust or ARK, you gather wood in Valheim by cutting down trees. New players, as well as experienced lumberjacks, quickly learn about the deadliest enemy in the game: a falling tree!
Anyone who cuts down a tree in Valheim must pay close attention to the direction in which it falls. It’s best to just run away to avoid getting hit. Because such a hit can cost you your life very quickly, as many players have found out. There are always clips on Reddit or YouTube that showcase this spectacle:
That’s why trees are so deadly: In addition to all the dangers that Valheim’s world offers, you often have to face the trees. Wood is a valuable resource, whether you are a beginner or already a veteran. For example, you need it to build and upgrade a workbench.
Trolls, Draugr, wolves or the massive bosses can be easily defeated with the right tactics. However, Valheim’s physics system currently makes it impossible to accurately predict what will happen with a falling tree. As seen in the Reddit video above, a tree can fall awkwardly and suddenly change direction.
If you fell a tree in a densely wooded area, it often leads to a cool chain reaction where multiple trees fall. If you don’t quickly seek safety here, you will die.
Thus, trees are among the deadliest enemies in the game and cause lumberjacks to run around in panic. Have you ever died to a tree or even more than once? Let us know in the comments.
