The Destiny 2 expansion Forsaken brought many new bounties. However, if too many bounties accumulate, you may find yourself locked out of your character.
With Forsaken, guardians in Destiny 2 had plenty to do again: Besides the story, the bounties also ensure that there’s no boredom. However, if you accumulate so many tasks that the bounties go to the post office, you may be excluded from your character.
Rare bug locks players out
What kind of bug is this? As some players report in the Destiny subreddit, they can no longer access their characters due to a bug. Additionally, the affected guardian and sometimes even other characters from the account can no longer be selected in the companion app or third-party apps with API services.

How does the error occur? Expired bounties are said to be the root of all evil in this bug. The error is said to occur when the quest tab in the guardians’ inventory is full. If new bounties are added, such as through the clan perk that grants another bounty once one is completed or when dismantling items, they then go to the post office.
If the bounties in the post office expire and the guardians log out, this situation leads to the bug. Logging in to the character in this case results in an immediate Weasel error.
What does Bungie say about the bug? Bungie is already tracking the error and will fix it in an upcoming patch. Until then, guardians should ensure not to leave bounties in the post office.

As was read in the last TWaB, the data of affected guardians is not at risk: They should be able to log back into their locked characters once the error is resolved.
