Players are eagerly waiting for the announcement and release of GTA 6. Recent rumors say that Rockstar Games wants to release 3 games as “remakes” first. And that soon.
What are the rumors? On Reddit and in the GTA forums, everything is currently revolving around nostalgia. While there is still no sign of an announcement for a new installment of the series, GTA 6, insiders already want to know more about Rockstar Games and publisher Take Two’s plans.
- Allegedly, 3 remakes are planned
- They revolve around the titles GTA III, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas
- They should be available to purchase in less than 3 months
We will show you where the rumors come from and what lies behind them.
The Hints about Remakes of Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA 3
This is how it started: In the GTA Online forum, there is a sub-section “Speculation about the next DLC” (via GTA Forums). There, one of the team members posted a message with the simple content “Soon.”.
This was followed by an exciting exchange with a user and the team member.
Out of curiosity, what do you think about it? Of course, without telling everyone what it is, if you don’t want to. Personally, I think it’s pretty cool, and I never really expected them to do that. So I’m definitely looking forward to it.
Team Member: Oh, I know very well which forum I should be in, and I know you know that if I were to post in those forums, everyone would start to know what we know, and I prefer that it’s only us who knows, you understand? But all of us who “know” treat this differently, so if you want to post in those forums, I won’t stop you.
But yes, I think it’s freaking awesome and I can’t wait. I’ve wanted this for many years, and I’m glad it’s happening sooner rather than later.
As Reddit user ivanxtrem28 writes, it took only a few minutes before the thread was subsequently tagged with “III”, “VC”, and “SA”. So the labels for GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas.
What other information is there? The team member responded to another user in cryptic messages.
“Yes, I should get a trailer soon. The truck should have a lot of power with this engine. No problem with towing/transporting.”
Players interpret this as referring to the graphics engine, which is also used in an Enhanced Edition of GTA 5.
When a user asked him when he would buy the truck, he said “in less than 90 days”. This apparently refers to the announcement period for these special versions.
Also, the insider Tez2, who has often provided the first information about Rockstar titles before official announcements in the past, is speaking out in the forum. A user asks: So what was it that hyped the moderators but they didn’t say what it was about?
Tez2 replies, “A bit of nostalgic stuff.”
And there is something for fans of hidden messages as well. An admin from the GTA forum posted a picture on Twitter with “fan-made Shark Cards”. The Shark Cards are the cards you can use to buy in-game currency in GTA Online for Euros.
What is noteworthy is the issue number: 2001220220042013B46. If you untangle this, you get the following information:
- 2001 (Release of GTA III)
- 2002 (Release of GTA Vice City)
- 2004 (Release of GTA San Andreas)
- 2013 (Release of GTA 5)
- B46 – Before 6 – Before GTA 6
How likely is it?
Keep in mind: There are some factors to consider regarding this topic as well. On paper, such rumors and theories sound credible at first.
The topic of Vice City has come up repeatedly in recent years. In 2018, these reasons supported a release of GTA 6 in 2022.
Often also in connection with the next part of the GTA series, which would make the spelling “GTA VI” a direct template for GTA VI(CE). Even in the casino of GTA Online, traces of the highly anticipated setting can be found:
But still, these are just rumors and none of this is officially set in stone. It’s clear that the popular GTA Vice City has many fans with its setting. You steered through a fictional setting that resembled Miami closely. Beaches, drinks, convertibles, drugs, and shootouts. The GTA formula with radio classics from the ’80s and ’90s was simply fun. But as long as it’s not officially announced, you should enjoy the information with a dose of skepticism.
Everyone is eagerly waiting for what Rockstar Games has to announce in the coming weeks. A new patent hints at more realistic open worlds in GTA.
What do you think of this rumor? Would you be happy about remakes of these special GTA titles, or is that not for you and would you rather hold something completely new like a GTA 6?
There are also many rumors and alleged leaks about the new title. All rumors about release, announcement, and setting of GTA 6 can be found here – including the story of how the new installment of the Grand Theft Auto series could take on a Narcos theme.
