The FIFA professional Niklas Lugisland talks in this episode of the MeinMMO Podcast about his career and the associated difficulties.
Niklas Lugisland has achieved what many only dream of: He has become a FIFA professional and has also successfully built a Twitch channel. He has lived with the rare brittle bone disease since birth and is therefore in a wheelchair.
One would think that especially in e-sports, a disability should be completely irrelevant. There should be equal opportunities in virtual sports. However, this does not correspond to reality. Niklas is a unicorn in the FIFA scene and in e-sports. Gaming is still not limitless.
Leya talked to the FIFA professional about the difficulties of breaking into e-sports when one has a disability. This starts with questions like: Does the team bus have a ramp that allows you to get into the bus in a wheelchair? Niklas explains how he managed it and how others can follow in his footsteps.
