In Destiny 2, you can once again pursue the prestigious title hunt in Season 9. We explain how to earn the latest addon Savior.
What is the new title about? Bungie continues the tradition and lets you hunt for a new title in the Season of Dawn. The titles are prestigious customization options and appear visible to all other Guardians next to your player name.
You don’t get such a title for free in Destiny 2. You have to prove yourself in many areas of the game and complete various tasks. We will show you in this article how to earn the name addition “Savior” and show it off powerfully.
How to become the Savior
Is this title time-limited? In short: yes. Since Shadowkeep, seasonal titles can only be earned in the corresponding season. Before that, the MMXIX title from the Triumph Moments 2019 was the only time-limited exception.
As for the name addition Immortal (Season 8), you need numerous achievements in the seasonal activity for the Savior title. This disappears with the end of the current season. This is intended to encourage players to consume new content during the respective season, Bungie wants to create a “I was there” feeling among players.
You currently have until March to master all the necessary triumphs. However, it is still not possible to own the Savior title. A look at the roadmap reveals that more relevant content is coming.

What lies behind the new title: To be called “Savior,” you must achieve a total of 16 different triumphs. You can view your current progress at any time in the Triumphs tab.
For completed triumphs, you also receive a reward in the form of seasonal currency. The required tasks are divided into the following three larger areas, which we will examine separately:
- The Sundial activity
- The Obelisks
- Seasonal Quests
- The Collections Seal
These tasks await you in the Sundial:
- Slayer of Scavengers: Defeat each of the three Scion Scavengers. You need to defeat the tongue twisters Ozletec, Tazaroc, and Niruul. They await as the end boss of the activity.
- Inotam’s Ruin: Defeat Inotam in the Sundial. The fourth and final boss is currently not available. You can challenge the final Scavenger starting February 4.
- Legendary Scion: Inotam must be defeated again. This time, however, in the harder version of the Sundial. In the legendary difficulty, there is no player matchmaking.
- Race Through Time: For this triumph, you should not exceed the time limit in any encounter. It is assumed that you must complete the Sundial under 15 minutes.
- Unbeatable: Complete a whole run in the Sundial without dying once. This only applies to you; it does not matter how often your teammates die.
This is what you need to know about the Obelisk tasks:
- You must raise the resonance rank of all four Obelisks (EDZ, Mars, Tangled Shore, and Nessus) to level 10. What the level of the Obelisks means, you can read in this article.
- Additionally, you need to reach a total of 40 levels combined with all your Obelisks. You automatically complete this triumph with the previous one.
- Repair Connection: At the Tower Obelisk, you must restore all four destroyed connections. To do this, you complete a time-lost weapon bounty at each planetary Obelisk and then interact with the Obelisk in the Tower.

These quests you must complete:
- Holy Savior: The 14th Holy (Saint-14) must be rescued from the clutches of the Vex in the Infinite Forest for this triumph. To do this, complete the questline of Osiris on Mercury. After the second impossible task, you have rescued the legendary Titan.
- The Devil’s Ruin: To obtain the exotic pistol The Devil’s Ruin, you must complete a short but funny quest.
- Obtain the Exotic Bastion: This triumph is marked “secret” and is not yet available in the game. On the 28th, the quest for the Fusion Rifle Bastion will be available in the game. However, we already have first tips for this task.
- Empyrian Foundation: The second secret triumph refers to the so-called Empyrian Foundation. Currently, not much is known about this activity. The start date is listed as February 4.
You complete the Collections Seal like this: If you want to see how your collection stands in Season 9, you can track progress under the “Collections” tab. Your seasonal collection includes weapons, armor, and cosmetic items. To complete the seal, you only need to finish the collection for one of the three classes (Hunter, Titan, Warlock).
One important note: You only need to complete the collection for one of the three classes (Hunter, Titan, Warlock) to unlock the seal. These 24 entries are in the collection:
- The Time-Lost Shell: You own this Ghost Shell together with the Obelisk triumph “Global Resonance.”
- At the activity vendors Zavala, Lord Shaxx, and the Drifter, you receive tasks that reward you with required shaders and emblems. You complete these tasks basically on the side. Just remember to pick up the bounties.
- Receive a complete seasonal armor set. You can quickly obtain this from the Season Pass, both in the premium and the free track.
- You need all three seasonal exotic weapons.
- Earn all three ritual weapons from Season 9. The grind for the special weapons this time doesn’t take as long as before.
- Obtain the six weapons from the Sundial, inspired by Saint-14.
Here’s how to equip the Savior title: Once you have unlocked all the necessary triumphs, you can activate the corresponding seal in the Triumphs menu. The title will then appear in the character menu and be visible to all other players. This way, you show other Guardians that you are a true time cop. Neither the paradoxical time travel nor the manipulative cabal could keep up with you.
Are you going on the title hunt this season or do such prestige items not appeal to you at all?
