On March 31, 2022, the German Video Game Award was presented. The award for “Studio of the Year” went to the Regensburg development studio CipSoft. Its CEO, Stephan Vogler, emphasized in his acceptance speech that we are currently not living in carefree days. Therefore, the studio decided to donate the prize money of €50,000 to help people who fled from Ukraine.
Why was CipSoft awarded? When the federal government and the Federal Association of the German Games Industry presented the German Video Game Award on Thursday evening, March 31, 2022, the Regensburg development studio CipSoft caused a stir.
CipSoft received the award for “Studio of the Year” during the event. The Bavarian Minister for Digital Affairs, Judith Gerlach, presented the award to CipSoft CEOs Stephan Vogler and Benjamin Zuckerer and emphasized in her speech the social responsibility of the studio.
“We decided to donate €50,000 to help refugees from Ukraine”
Why is CipSoft donating €50,000? Stephan Vogler himself made clear shortly after receiving the award why the studio was attributed social responsibility.
“Unfortunately, we do not live in carefree times, and therefore we decided to donate €50,000 to help refugees from Ukraine.”
