In World of Warcraft Classic there is another change to PvP. The reason for this is players who maliciously use a portal to troll their opponents.
Actually, World of Warcraft Classic launched with the aim of introducing as few changes as possible to remain true to the “Vanilla” experience. Only what is truly necessary should be changed.
However, in the past weeks and months, there have been numerous small adjustments. This time, Blizzard feels compelled to change a small detail in Warsong Gulch, to ensure WoW Classic remains a long-term success.
What is changing? In Warsong Gulch, there are portals in both factions that allow players to leave the battlefield. These portals will no longer have any function and therefore cannot cause players to be thrown out of the battlefield.
Mind Control Kicks Players Out of Warsong
What was the problem? Blizzard does not specify the exact reason but mentions that they have received “an increased number of reports that these portals are being used unfairly.” Blizzard believes that this change eliminates the possibility of abuse without disrupting the natural flow of battle in WoW’s Warsong Gulch.
It is likely that the “unfair use” refers to priests who take control of opponents with mind control and then run them into the portal. Fear effects could also drive players into the portal, causing the respective player to leave the battle and be marked as a deserter. To make this behavior impossible, the portals will be deactivated. There were also funny stories related to mind control.
How does one leave the battle now? Those wishing to leave a battle early will have to do so in another manner, such as by typing “/afk”. Players marked as “afk” will be immediately removed from the battlefield. In the future, this, along with using the hearthstone or other teleportation methods, will likely be the only way to escape the battle early.
Do you know about the triplets who achieved rank 14 in PvP together?
This is how the community reacts: The announcement in the official forum primarily leads to two reactions:
- One group thinks it is good that Blizzard is taking action against this type of griefing and making it impossible.
- Another part feels that gradually they are moving further away from the intention of “#NoChanges” and tweaking WoW Classic bit by bit until it becomes a completely different game.
What do you think about it?
