Leveling weapons is especially the main activity of many players at the start of a new CoD game. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, there is a trick to easily collect a lot of XP. MyMMO author Maik Schneider sometimes feels like he is in a noise disturbance simulator because of this.
Tricks for faster weapon leveling in Call of Duty are always welcome. Every year, there is a different trick, a different method to quickly bring your arsenal to max level.
In the new Modern Warfare 2, it was first the Invasion mode that everyone rushed to – fight through to the enemy spawn and take out the NPCs wandering around in the big team deathmatch.
However, this leads to monotonous purpose-driven gameplay, only interrupted by annoying real players who clear my position. While I spit out an obscene curse, I am already on my way back to the spot, and it repeats – frustrating.
Fortunately, there is the decoy grenade – a tactical grenade that mimics gunfire. It turns out that you can farm a ton of extra weapon XP with these things if you regularly throw them in places where many enemies go down.
But since almost everyone is currently using this trick, some matches sound roughly like this:
Actually, sound in Call of Duty used to be really important. You could perceive enemies without seeing them. We even have a settings guide for louder footsteps on MyMMO.
At the moment, however, I just wish for some peace and quiet. There is banging, hissing, and firing from all corners. Sure, CoD is a war game, and I’m used to things exploding and gunfire everywhere.
But the decoy grenades take it to a whole new level of disturbance. Sometimes I feel like my ears are going to explode.
Particularly motivated specimens like to stay active for 20 seconds, playing sounds from almost every automatic weapon class and emitting the sound so that the shooting could come from just about any direction.
I’m the first to use such tricks, spread the word, and celebrate them. But the decoy grenade is driving me crazy right now. But my weapon levels look excellent … .
