During the final launch on Steam, Pax Dei was able to celebrate increasing player numbers, but there is also a lot of criticism. The developers now reveal what is on the to-do list for upcoming updates.
What are the developers planning? On the official Discord channel of Pax Dei, the officials explain that they were able to welcome many new players on the servers at launch and therefore received a lot of fresh feedback.
Reason enough to present an updated to-do list of changes and improvements that are to be implemented with the upcoming updates – however, they do not reveal a specific release roadmap yet.
Long To-Do List for Pax Dei
Here are the main points from the list:
Properties & Building
- Adjustable Permissions: Plans are already in place and work is underway. The devs are waiting for a final version before going live. It should come sooner rather than later.
- Transfer of Property Ownership: Currently being worked on.
- Gifting/Selling Properties: On the to-do list.
- Trees Growing Through Structures: For now, the developers want to at least prevent small trees (seedlings) from growing on properties and hide small foliage under foundations. There is no exact release date for this.
- Properties and the “Hole in the Middle” of Four Adjacent Parcels: Will be fixed at some point.
- Move Placed Structures/Chests: Will be implemented, but it is still unclear when.
- Allow Placing Properties Over Roads Without Blocking Other Players: Should be possible, but it is not yet in the works.
Economy & Inventory
- Buy Tokens Only Without Premium Bonus: In progress.
- Recycling and Direct Crafting from Inventory: On the list.
- Buy/Sell Orders: Designs exist for this; they will be implemented as soon as time allows. Purchase orders are a major feature and will be an important part of a future content update.
- Stack Sizes Are Too Small: This will be part of an upcoming adjustment to the crafting system.
- Inventory and Chest Sorting & Transfer: There are designs for some of these points and the developers are giving high priority to this: “It is one of the most important things we could be doing right now.”
Crafting & Equipment
- Update for the Crafting System, Which Is Quite Laborious: On the list of immediate tasks.
- Shifting Repairs to Consumables: That is on the way. In the meantime, the devs want to at least simplify repairs, allowing everything to be repaired at any crafting station so you don’t have to jump between all of them to finish your equipment repairs.
Combat & Skills
- Change Cooldown for Weapon Switching: Designs already exist, and the devs will work on it as quickly as possible. Should come soon via a patch.
- Improve Bow Skill, Which Is Difficult to Level: On the list.
- New Weapons: The developers are currently working on at least one new weapon type and will add more in the future.
- Removal of the Shield Bash: At the moment, main CC abilities are found in some of the weapon and equipment spells. Shields are supposed to receive more attention, and more options for off-hand items and their uniqueness should be provided.
- Duelling: On the to-do list.
Miscellaneous
- Some Resources (Mainly Plants) Are Too Small to Be Easily Recognized: A fix is coming as soon as possible.
- Additional Roles for Clans: In preparation.
- Re-add Map Legend: The developers had to remove the map legend as it was not localized, and they are currently working to make it available again as soon as possible.
Whether these improvements will address all current criticisms of the game seems questionable. After all, players also criticize the payment model of the MMORPG as well as the laborious grind when collecting resources.
