Monster Hunter World (PS4, PC and Xbox One) has a powerful editor that allows you to create beautiful characters. However, for some players, the end result in-game looked horrendous!
In the editor of Monster Hunter World, you can spend many hours at the start of the game. The possibilities are enormous and allow for many beautiful creations by hunters and feline companions:

According to the YouTuber and Monster Hunter World fan GaijinHunter, many players of Monster Hunter World experienced the shock of their lives in the game. They had spent 90 or more minutes crafting their dream hero, but in the game, instead of the beautiful avatar, they encountered an ugly ogre with a pancake face. Or at least a far less appealing person than what was seen in the editor.
How can this happen? There are several theories:
- The angle during character creation was more favorable than in the game
- The lighting in the editor is to blame
- Some face base shapes seem to look fundamentally different in the editor than in the game
- Possibly, the graphic quality in the editor is better than in the actual game

However, in our editorial team, there were hardly any problems with unexpectedly ugly characters. The heroes of our Monster Hunter authors all matched the creators’ expectations and were only slightly different in the game.
