Battlerite, the enormously successful arena brawler by Stunlock Studios on Steam, is getting a new hero in October. This is a bear-like hunter named Jumong, who also looks like he could bite bears. Jumong resembles the hero Seeker from Bloodline Champions and seems to become a sniper hero.
Anyone who – like the author here – diligently plays the brilliant arena brawler Battlerite has surely noticed that one of the loading screens shows a grim and scarred archer. At some point, I thought to myself: “Hey, I need to try him out!”. But no luck, the hunter was nowhere to be found among the 15 heroes in Battlerite.
Hunter from the Shadows
Now the secret has been revealed, as the ranger has a name: “Jumong, The Beast Hunter”. In a small teaser, we can see him stalking through the shadows, and he seems to have some sort of invisibility dodge ability, and he can lay down nasty bear traps that root the opponent. Furthermore, he shoots with his bow at long range, which apparently requires a channeling time.
Jumong could thus come across as a pure ranged fighter, whose bow shots are as time-consuming as the rifle shot of gunfighter Jade. We will learn more about his skills of course only when Jumong steps out of the shadows and enters the game regularly. This will probably happen still this month in October. In addition, another unknown hero is supposed to be released during this time.
Jürgen says: Battlerite is currently one of my absolute favorite games and therefore I’m really looking forward to the new hero. However, I prefer fast and dynamic characters like Freya, Jade, or Taya. So if Jumong turns out to be more of a static ranged fighter, I might not warm up to him as much. But it doesn’t matter, there’s supposed to be another hero coming who will surely be a melee fighter or supporter.
