The fast-paced arena brawler game Battlerite is getting new updates and heroes in February. With this, the developer is preparing the title for its soon-to-be-launch as a free-to-play game.
Battlerite is an arena brawler, meaning it’s a game with MOBA gameplay but without lanes, jungle, minions, levels, and other frills. What remains is pure action with skill shots and effective use of hero abilities. It’s a ton of fun, but until now only paying customers have been able to play the early access as a buy-to-play game.
Major patches in February
According to the developers’ plans, Battlerite will soon be available as a free-to-play game. An important step towards this goal is two major patches in February. The first update will arrive on Valentine’s Day, February 14th. In addition to the obligatory Valentine’s skins, a new hero is also planned. Furthermore, new titles, mounts, and Season 2 in the ranking system will be introduced.
The second February patch will arrive on February 28, 2017, and will introduce experimental gameplay changes this time. For example, certain skills will be adjusted by modifying their parameters such as casting time or cooldowns. Additionally, melee fighters, who have been slightly neglected until now, will be improved this time. New mounts will finally round off the second patch.
Further patches until the free-to-play release will also feature a new map and legendary skins, among other additions.
