The duration of the campaign for Star Wars: Battlefront II has been revealed. And it is less than what fans hoped and expected.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the next “Star Wars” game. Battlefront II is already on the starting blocks. Unlike its predecessor, developer DICE aims to implement a strong single-player campaign. Players will accompany Iden Versio as she experiences the death of the Emperor and continues to fight for the Empire. The gripping trailer does the rest and looks simply fantastic.
But how long will the single-player fun last? 10 hours? 20 hours? Maybe even a bit longer? After all, shooters are not particularly known for their long campaigns.
Colleagues from Press-Start conducted an interview with David Robillard and brought the result to light.
According to this, Battlefront 2 will have a duration of “5-7, maybe 8 hours” in the campaign – a disappointment for many fans. The reasoning is that players should have a very “intense experience in the ‘Star Wars’ universe” that does not feel “stretched out”.
Cortyn says: Back then, in the good old days when the world was still alright and games only consisted of a maximum of 32 colors, games with a length of 5 hours were on the cover CD of Bravo Screenfun and were called “demo version”. The extent disappoints me quite a bit because I was really hungry for the game after the trailer and just Stöffels trailer analysis really got me excited. But now I will probably wait until the game is thrown at me for 5€ – what a shame.
But maybe the 5-7 hours are just right to tell an exciting, compact story. However, it won’t be worth 60€ to me. I got a better deal in the cinema.
Battlefront 2 already has many problems – such as the massive pay-to-win accusations.
