Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to be released by EA boss Blake Jorgensen in the fall of 2017, almost a year from now. Furthermore, Electronic Arts plans to release a Star Wars game every year.
Battlefront was a bigger success for Electronic Arts with over 14 million copies sold than the publisher had anticipated. Therefore, it is no surprise that a sequel is in the works. Nothing new so far, but now EA CEO Blake Jorgensen confirmed to the website Polygon that Battlefront 2 will be released in the fall of 2017, that is in less than a year.
Star Wars Galore for at least three years!
According to Jorgensen, Battlefront 2 is supposed to offer a larger and better gaming experience than its predecessor and will also feature locations from the upcoming Episode VIII, which is also set to be released in 2017. But with Battlefront 2, the end is not near, and after a long drought of Star Wars games, EA wants to present a new Star Wars game every year for the next three to four years.
The EA studios Visceral (Dead Space) and Respawn (Titanfall) are also working on titles from the Star Wars universe. The latter is expected to deliver a third-person action-adventure, and the Dead Space creators have recruited Amy Henning (Uncharted) as the project lead for their Star Wars title. However, it is still unknown what kind of game will come out of this.
