In Battlefield 6, the new Season 2 has just started and many fans are happy about the positive changes. However, one skin is causing trouble in the community, as many have apparently spent far too much money on it.
Which skin is it? It is the bundle “The 323”, which can be purchased in the shop for 2,400 Battlefield Coins (€24.99). Players receive some cosmetic items, including 4 skins for their soldiers. However, with the release of Season 2, there is now a problem: One of the skins has been placed as a reskin in the Battle Pass (€9.99) of the new season.
Fans feel deceived by DICE, as not only do they have to pay less for this version of the skin, but the bundle has even been brought back with a discount of 18%. On Reddit, the user n7Angel initiated the discussion around the issue. It becomes clear that some fans are taking the topic too personally.
Fans are upset about skins they can’t see
What do fans say about the issue? With over 2,100 upvotes, many fans are affected by the problem, but there are also some opinions in the comments that downplay the issue. Leteee summarizes this quite aptly in one sentence, as he questions why one should generally purchase skins in a first-person shooter that they cannot see anyway.
Many other users follow Leteee’s post with joking comments and agree with him, giving him over 800 upvotes.
User ProjectGameVerse2000 is personally affected by the problem, but he does not care that DICE has taken this step for Season 2. He himself states that he hardly uses the skins, so it’s clear he feels no loss. Nevertheless, he is not angry about it. This practice by DICE only shows him that Season 1 is the only and last season he would invest money in. He was already satisfied with the Phantom Edition.
Nevertheless, skins still play an important role in Battlefield 6, as this post shows, and there is a good reason for it.
Why are skins so important to fans? Even though one cannot see the skins in a first-person shooter, it is important for the community that they at least remain realistic.
DICE keeps its promise and even changed once unrealistic skins so that they fit the serious tone of the war shooter. Many feared before the release that DICE would follow Activision’s path and implement inappropriate cartoon skins. At least with Season 2, this concern has not come true again.
Are you upset about the bundle and the reskin, or do you not care? Aside from the issue, there is still a reason to celebrate. One thing that fans particularly like in Season 2 has to do with your movement: Battlefield 6 changes the movement with Season 2, immediately receiving praise from the community: “The game feels much better now”
