Battlefield 6 is starting soon in its second season, and to give you an idea of what to expect this year, the developers have already released a small roadmap. Therefore, we show you the most important changes at a glance.
When does Season 2 start? Battlefield 6 and REDSEC will receive their Season 2 on February 17 at 1:00 PM German time – that’s a Tuesday. With the release of the new season, new weapons, vehicles, maps, and modes will come to the shooter. Roadmap 2026 – What you should know about Season 2
What should I know about Season 2? Season 2 is divided into three phases, and each phase will be unlocked at a specific time. The phases and their release periods are as follows:
- Extreme Measures
- Start: February 17
- Nightfall
- Start: March 17
- Hunter / Prey
- Start: April 14
When a new phase is active, new content will also be unlocked for you to enjoy.
What are the most important changes? Season 2 is set to provide you with a lot of new content. The most important changes include:
- 2 new maps throughout Season 2
- 6 new modes (some of which are only available in REDSEC)
- 3 new vehicles
- 7 new weapons (most of them will be available at the release of Season 2 on February 17)
Portal is also set to receive updates throughout Season 2 and expand its system. This includes:
- At the start of Season 2:
- All Portal creators will receive the entire hardware included in the Season 2 Battle Pass at launch. Owners of Battlefield 6 will also gain access to the new map “Contaminated”
- With the release of Nightfall:
- In Nightfall, the Portal SDK tool will receive several usability improvements as well as a scripted camera.
- With the release of Hunter / Prey:
- Hunter / Prey introduces two new verified modes, one for REDSEC and one for Battlefield 6
- Duos for Battle Royale will be free for all players as a verified mode.
- Additionally, Battlefield 6 owners can create their own verified escalation experiences
