A new trailer for Battlefield 5 provides insights into gameplay, the various locations, and the battle royale mode “Firestorm”.
In the new Battlefield 5 trailer, there is a lot of information about the upcoming game modes. You can learn more about the locations, and there are also new details about the Last-Man-Standing mode.
What do we know about Firestorm?
The BR mode in Battlefield V is called Firestorm. The name comes from the fact that a wall of fire shrinks the playable area.
Not the usual 100 players: DICE has set Firestorm apart from the “typical” 100-player battle royale. The mode is apparently only for 4-player squads. In total, there is space for 64 players, meaning 16 teams.
Vehicles are also included: It is now clear that there will also be vehicles in the Firestorm mode. Whether these are already on the map from the beginning or spawn during a match is still unclear. The trailer shows tanks driving across the Firestorm map.
Destroying buildings: With the heavy tanks, you can destroy some buildings scattered across the map. This could be an interesting method against campers who hide in or behind buildings.
The largest Battlefield map: In the video, it is once again mentioned that the Firestorm spectacle will be played on the largest map ever seen in a Battlefield game.
Weapons on the map: On the map, there are supposed to be destructible buildings, weapons, and vehicles. Whether these weapons are scattered across the map as is common in BR games is unclear. You could also start with some basic equipment and find special weapons on the map that you have to fight over. Similar to a supply drop in PUBG or Fortnite.
More multiplayer modes: The rest of the trailer discusses the various additional game modes. 8 multiplayer modes are supposed to be available at launch.
