The new update in Battlefield 5 is here. In addition to the obvious new features in the game, a lot has also been done for game balance. We now show you the most important changes.
EA DICE has released the new Battlefield 5 update. A large part of the massive update was dedicated to the new multiplayer map and a new story for single-player. Upon closer inspection, various changes to the game balance can also be found.
The update comes late, as the developers stopped it at the last minute before the actual release.
We will tell you what changes the development team has made and how it will change the gameplay.
These changes make the game better
What do the changes bring? The changes are intended to better balance the game and thus provide players with a better and more realistic gameplay experience.
This is how the conquest mode changes: The conquest mode, in which 64 players can participate, previously strengthened the weaker team with a type of catch-up mechanism. This will now only be used when the losing team is far behind. No longer in matches where the teams are nearly equal.
How will planes be changed? The ammunition in cannons and machine guns that fire forward in planes has been reduced. Additionally, the damage model for planes has been optimized. You need to aim more accurately to destroy critical parts.
Furthermore, pilots now have better zoom on the battlefield. In first-person view, there is a 2.5x zoom. This allows pilots to scout better. A better connection between planes and infantry is intended.
Individual planes also received adjustments:
- The 37mm cannons from the Stuka are now more damaging against vehicles and less so against infantry.
- The cannons of the BF109 are now less effective against bombers.
- The machine gun of the Spitfire now has a overheating indicator that slows down or stops the gun.
Anti-air tanks have been improved: The anti-air tanks have been made stronger, allowing them to withstand infantry attacks longer.
Two game modes have been improved: The bomb carriers in the game modes Frontline and Airborne no longer carry a symbol above their heads. This makes them harder for the enemy to spot and they are expected to survive much longer.
Changes to the anti-tank rocket: The anti-tank rocket for combating enemy vehicles has been adjusted. The damage against vehicles is now supposed to be more consistent.
Planes can withstand more damage: The damage that planes take from rifle fire has been reduced. This allows pilots to perform low flying better and survive longer.
