Battlefield 5 puts an end to the continuous fire from tanks and other vehicles. The ammunition for heavy war machines will be limited. Once it runs out, vehicles and aircraft will need to be supplied with new ammunition.
Battlefield offers more than just infantry: Vehicle combat and air battles are essential parts of the Battlefield series. This will not change with the release of Battlefield 5. However, some mechanics related to the use of vehicles will change.

In an interview with the YouTube channel Westie, Daniel Berlin, the Design Director of Battlefield 5, recently revealed some new details about vehicle battles.
Heavy war machines must be supplied with ammunition
As Berlin mentioned in the interview, fans of Battlefield V can expect some changes. However, he does not refer to the upcoming Battle Royale mode.
Limited ammunition for heavy artillery: Just like infantry, vehicles in Battlefield 5 will have limited ammunition capacities. Once the ammunition stock is depleted, vehicles will need to be resupplied. Aircraft will also need to be reloaded once they have fired all their ammunition.
This is how reloading works: If the ammunition in the vehicle is exhausted, it must return to a supply point to replenish its supplies. The vehicle does not need to be exited for this.

If an aircraft’s ammunition is depleted, the pilot must head to their own airfield. Balloons will be floating in the sky there, which need to be circled for a while to refill the ammunition supplies.
No more camping in tanks: This new mechanic aims to prevent players from settling in advantageous positions and continuously firing on their opponents. This could become a problem, especially in Grand Operations. Due to the limited ammunition, this is no longer possible in Battlefield V. A tank will eventually have to abandon its position and move to a supply point. An aircraft will also have to retreat at some point. This benefits the game’s balance, according to Berlin.
What do you think of this change? Do you believe it’s a sensible step?
