Just before the launch of Firestorm, there were finally first details about the map at Battlefield 5 . The game world of the upcoming battle royale mode will feature the largest map in the history of Battlefield.
This is how massive the Firestorm map is: On Twitter, the developers at DICE have now presented the new map for the Firestorm mode. The map will be called Halvøy and will be the largest map in the Battlefield series.
To illustrate the massive scale of the battle royale game world, a comparison was made with the previously largest Battlefield 5 map, Hamada.
This desert map is already huge and offers plenty of space for infantry battles, tank battles, and air combat. Halvøy is supposed to be 10 times larger than Hamada. Here is the comparison:
When is the Firestorm mode coming? As recently announced in a first trailer, Firestorm will launch on March 25 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
What’s planned until the release of Firestorm? Until then, there should still be a further trailer and numerous blogs this week, providing additional information about the new battle royale mode.
A roadmap for the immediate future of Battlefield 5 is also expected to be published sometime this week. DICE will reportedly address most of the burning questions from fans.
What is currently known about Firestorm? Due to the leak of apparently an official tutorial for Firestorm, numerous details have already become known in advance. Now, some new information has come in. Here’s the summary of the most important points:
- There will be 17 different vehicles, including tanks, helicopters, tractors
- There will be solo, duo, and quad modes for up to 64 players
- No classes
- You will play on the largest Battlefield map
- The map can be altered through destruction
- Three different equipment tiers
- Inventory space and ammunition capacity are limited
- Two primary weapons and one handgun can be equipped
- Various objectives through which you can unlock the best equipment
- Firestorm is an independent mode, but progress is linked to your company and your Battlefield 5 progress
