Battlefield 2042 has finally been officially released. For the release, the new shooter entices with 7 maps where you can play different game modes. MeinMMO wants to know from you which one you find the best.
What maps are available? In All-out Warfare, the standard mode of Battlefield 2042, there are 7 maps available that can be played in a random rotation. Each of them is unique and features special attributes:
- Hourglass is a desert town in Qatar with a stadium, where a sandstorm can occur
- Discarded is a port in India with old ships and deadly storms
- Manifest in Singapore can be devastated by tropical tornadoes
- Kaleidoscope, a metropolis in South Korea, features skyscrapers and heavy rain
- Orbital in French Guiana can launch a rocket (or have it destroyed)
- Breakaway is a massive ice desert in Antarctica with destructible fuel tanks and silos
- Renewal, a map in Egypt, is divided with a green area and a desert separated by a wall
Particularly Breakaway was criticized as the largest map of the game right at release: the map is simply too large and empty. Even with vehicles, it can take a long time before you encounter enemies.
The size of the maps has worried many players since Early Access. On one hand, it annoys them that it takes forever to reach the points. On the other hand, many of the weapons are inaccurate at long distances.
Therefore, many players turn to sniper rifles and DMRs. They are still very effective at range and, due to their single shots, are affected very little by the spread that troubles many players. The first DMR that is available for you to choose was even the strongest weapon at the very beginning:
