On Twitter, Battlefield 2042 announced the next patch. It is supposed to come next week and address two of the currently most discussed problems in the game. We from MeinMMO summarize the early patch notes for you.
When is the update coming? We do not have a specific date yet. On Twitter, it is only mentioned that it’s “by the end of next week.” So possibly on Thursday, November 25, or Friday, November 26.
Although the complete patch notes are not available yet, some issues that the patch will address have already been mentioned.
These include two of the currently most annoying problems in Battlefield 2042: OP hovercrafts and the redeploy bug.
Battlefield 2042 Update fixes hovercrafts and redeploy bug
What we know about the upcoming update: The developers have mentioned five specific points that will be addressed in the next patch.
These include:
- The redeploy bug will be fixed.
- The UAV-1 vehicle will return to the game. It was previously removed from the Portal mode for balancing reasons.
- Issues with missing loadouts will be fixed.
- The LCAA hovercraft will be nerfed while the MD540 Nightbird helicopter will also be overhauled.
- The armor and armament of the hovercrafts will be weakened.
- The weapons of the Nightbirds will also be weakened.
Especially the redeploy bug and the changes to the hovercrafts are likely to be important for players.
Why is this so important for players? The redeploy bug caused two annoying problems: Players could not be revived by their teammates under certain circumstances.
This is a significant factor in the heat of battle and incredibly frustrating for medics and fallen players. Additionally, some players could not even respawn due to the bug, preventing them from getting back to the battlefield after dying. Players use a trick to alert others to the bug.
The hovercrafts caused a stir already in the beta and early access. They can take a lot of damage, nearly as much as a tank, overrun countless enemies and even defy the laws of physics.
Whether the reduced armor will be sufficient to stop these overpowered boats remains to be seen after the update.
What else is in the patch? We currently do not know. These may be the only changes.
There is a long list of other issues that developers at DICE need to address. Specifically, the spread with assault rifles is a concern for many players.
However, it is quite possible that further fixes are in the works that will make it into the update. Unfortunately, we will have to wait for more information.
Overall, the official release of Battlefield 2042 was not smooth mainly due to technical issues. It is currently getting ripped apart on Steam, with only 21% positive reviews.
