In Battlefield Portal, you can create your own game modes for the new shooter Battlefield 2042. However, although the game will start Early Access on Friday, you can already download Portal now and create your own map for the game.
What kind of mode is this? In Portal, you have access to content and maps from three Battlefield classics:
- Battlefield 3
- Battlefield: Bad Company 2
- Battlefield 1942
From these contents and those from Battlefield 2042, you can use weapons, vehicles, and factions to create your own game mode in an editor.
The editor is web-based and can be used on various devices like tablets or smartphones via browser. You don’t even have to buy Battlefield 2042 to use the builder.

What has happened now? The website for Battlefield Portal is already live, and any user who has an EA account can already start building their own game modes there.
The Early Access for Battlefield 2042 starts on Friday, November 12 and the official release is 7 days later.
Event is supposed to be the reason for the start of Battlefield Portal
Why is the mode already live? Our colleagues from GameStar suspect that a capture event might be the reason for the early release of Battlefield Portal.
Famous leaker Tom Henderson has reported on such an event, where he was able to play the new Hazard Zone (via Twitter).
Also, the fact that the URL review.portal.battlefield.com indicates that the website was supposed to be tested by selected users. Now it is available to all users.
What can you do with Battlefield Portal now? If you like, you can now log in on the website and create your own mode where troops from World War II can fight against troops from Battlefield 3.
For each game, there are 2 maps and 7 from Battlefield 2042 to choose from. You even have the option to shrink the map area to make the fights more intense.
