The shooter Battlefield 2042 had a rough start and has not yet recovered. The player numbers speak volumes. Learn everything about the issues of Battlefield 2042 in the MeinMMO-Podcast.
This is the topic: Now, almost 6 months after the release of Battlefield 2042, a lot would need to happen for the EA shooter to get back on track. Since the release, Battlefield 2042 has been marked by poor decisions, PR disasters, and lackluster or missing updates.
And the players have made this clear in their reviews.
A particularly big problem for the community has been the overly large maps and the specialists from the very beginning. The latter feel more like Call of Duty than like Battlefield for many. The large maps quickly lead to boredom. At the beginning of March, the developers finally revealed how they plan to save the bad maps.
On Steam, the multiplayer shooter now averages only 2,129 players (as of 18.03.2022). Directly at release in November 2021, there were still 51,299. On Twitch, Battlefield 2042 is limping along with only about 200 – 300 simultaneous viewers (as of 18.03.2022).
These are reasons why the MeinMMO editorial team finds it hard to believe that Battlefield 2042 can recover.
Leya, Schuhmann, and Marko are discussing the story behind the shooter in the podcast. Because the problems run deeper than you might think and are also related to personnel structures.
