This is how the launch of Battlefield 2042 went: Since November 19, the shooter has been out, and it has been turbulent ever since. Early on, it became clear that the game has been struggling with various issues.
There is a lot of criticism regarding the technical state of the game, and some design decisions are also not well received.
Many believe that Battlefield 2042 should not have been released in this state. The mood is quite heated, especially among long-time fans and in the Battlefield 2042 subreddit.
Some players are so angry, that there have reportedly been death threats against the developers. On Steam, Battlefield 2042 was torn apart in reviews at release and at one point had only 21% positive ratings.
In the meantime, the game is one of the least popular games of all time on Steam, but at the same time, it has high player numbers. On Metacritic, the reviews are mixed, Battlefield 2042 performs worse on average than its predecessors.
Nevertheless, players continue to speak out who are having a lot of fun with the game despite the problems and some weaknesses of the latest Battlefield installment.

This is how it will continue with Battlefield 2042: Developer DICE has already announced a new update that aims to fix several of the annoying issues. This is expected to be released by the end of the week, but we do not have a specific date for this.
According to previous leaks, another update is expected in early December that will also bring additional features like player stats into the game.
