No mercy for cheaters in Battlefield 2042 – Is it handled differently than in CoD Warzone?
This is how Battlefield 2042 aims to ensure fair play: To create a good atmosphere, EA has established some principles. They appeal to players to cooperate and not to negatively influence other players.
To ensure this, you should report relevant violations. Here is the list of things you can report directly:
- Abusive text chat
- Abusive voice chat
- Cheating/Exploiting exploits
- Gameplay sabotage
- Offensive player name
- Harassment

This is how they want to act against cheaters: Battlefield 2042 relies on the Easy Anti-Cheat software from Epic Games. This is already used for other EA games like Apex Legends or Star Wars: Squadrons.
Interestingly, however, what threatens cheaters if they are caught. The blog post states:
There are no warnings and no temporary bans when it comes to cheating. If you don’t adhere to the rules, you’re out.

There are some principles:
- Due to the crossplay feature, any penalties apply to all platforms.
- A ban takes effect immediately, meaning players are kicked off the servers right away.
- Punishments can also be imposed on other EA services.
- Depending on the severity of your offense, you could also be penalized in other EA games.
This is how they want to consistently put an end to cheaters. Whether this issue can be handled better than in other shooters like CoD Warzone remains to be seen.
What is the problem in CoD Warzone? Cheaters have been wreaking havoc in Warzone for ages. There are always numerous incidents involving aim bots, wall hacks, and other crazy cheat variants. Hackers continually find new methods to gain an unfair advantage.
Here is just a small selection of incidents from the last few months:
- Call of Duty Warzone just can’t shake off the cheaters; they are even flying with vehicles now

While the developers consistently try to get the situation under control, they have only had moderate success so far. But other shooters are also affected: EA’s Apex Legends is repeatedly struggling with cheaters and hackers.
