Season 2 in Battlefield 2042 brought several new contents for players, such as a new map or an additional specialist. Since August 30, 2022, it has been running under the motto: “Master of Arms”.
Currently, player numbers on Steam are rising and there are now initial positive reactions in the community, which, unlike at launch, are enthusiastically expressing their thoughts about Battlefield 2042 again.

What do players on Steam say about Battlefield 2042? The recent reviews provide insight into the current opinions of Battlefield 2042 players on Steam. Since August 30, 2022, 222 reviews have been submitted. Of those, 57% were positive (via steam, as of 31.08.2022).
In the positive reviews, several players say that the game is better now and it is worth playing again. One player, rjhess6, writes: “Much better than at launch, worth playing now”.
However, Battlefield 2042 is still criticized by some players. Goldschlange says: “It’s a really cool game, if only it wouldn’t crash all the time, that’s really bad.” Players mention technical issues as criticism or simply do not like Battlefield 2042 as a whole.
What are the current player numbers on Steam? Looking at Steam analysis websites, such as steamcharts.com, there has been a significant increase in player numbers on Steam recently.
On the site steamdb, the current upward trend can also be observed. The peak on August 30, 2022, with 17,064 players on Steam is clearly visible. This later decreased slightly. However, the current player numbers are still somewhat higher than before the release of Season 2 in Battlefield 2042.

Is it going to continue like this in Battlefield 2042? It must also be noted that the increase in player numbers, as well as the positive comments immediately after the release of Season 2, only allow for a first glimpse into the community. However, it is still uncertain whether the trend will continue to rise. Season 2 is still too new for that.
Nevertheless, the new features seem to be well received by many players and provide the opportunity for Battlefield 2042 to be in a better place in the future.
What’s new in Season 2 of Battlefield 2042? The new Season “Master of Arms” brought players some new features: On one hand, there was the new map titled “Stranded” and the former weapons dealer Charlie Crawford as a specialist.
On the other hand, the arsenal was expanded with three new firearms (AM40, Avancys, PF51) and the shock grenade. Players can also now zoom around with two new vehicles (EBLC-RAM & Polaris RZR).
