EA is keeping new information about the Open Beta of Battlefield 2042 under wraps. Still, there is no launch date. Insider Tom Henderson, meanwhile, is confident: It should happen in early October. However, players are cautious with their anticipation.
When is the Battlefield 2042 beta supposed to start? There is still no official date for this. EA was supposed to announce news this week after the release of Battlefield 2042 was postponed last week. Originally, the beta was apparently supposed to come in September, which now seems extremely unlikely.
Now it is Friday, September 24, and there is still no information from the publisher. However, the well-known industry insider Tom Henderson has mentioned a date again, which he apparently considers relatively certain:
- On October 4, there will be a press event where content creators and media will get an insight into the beta.
- On October 6, the two-day early access phase will begin.
- On October 8, the beta will then start for everyone.
The date he mentioned a few days ago as a possible new release for the Open Beta. He cited internal dates as the source for this information. This time, he apparently refers to emails that were allegedly sent to content creators and media to confirm the date again.
Players remain skeptical about the new date
How reliable is this? Henderson has long been known as a well-known insider and revealed some details about Battlefield 2042 long before the announcement. These included, for example, the setting in the future, or the portal mode, which was announced much later.
Nevertheless, players are skeptical even about the new date.
How are players reacting to the insider information? Many are simply worried, as EA still remains very tight-lipped regarding the beta. Henderson is essentially their only chance to get new information, even if it is not always reliable.
Nevertheless, many believe they will only trust that the beta is coming when it has actually been released. Because Henderson was also very confident about another date. A few weeks ago, he mentioned September 22 as the likely start for the Open Beta.
According to his sources, that was also the planned date, but it was then postponed internally, and subsequently, the postponement of Battlefield 2042 followed.
So they do not doubt the insider himself, but rather whether EA can stick to its own schedule. Ultimately, one can only wait and see whether and when EA will release official information about the beta. On which platforms is the Open Beta supposed to be released? A release is planned for all platforms where the full game will also be released: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
An update in the PlayStation Store, however, has caused some concern among fans. (via mp1st.com). Because early access to the beta for PS4 as a pre-order bonus was missing there. However, this turned out to be just a mistake in the store, as the community manager confirmed on Twitter. (via Twitter)
When is Battlefield 2042 actually supposed to be released? The shooter was postponed from October 22 to November 19. If it stays that way, you can dive into battles with up to 128 players on a map by the end of November at the latest.
