Even during the beta of Battlefield 1, there was a bug with the weather system that made matches unfair. This issue is still present in the game today.
The World War shooter Battlefield 1 has many cool features that make various battles never feel “the same.” Among other things, there is a dynamic weather system in the game. This system was integrated into the game to create as realistic conditions as possible. During World War I, there was also bad weather that greatly impaired visibility in the areas. However, this dynamic weather in Battlefield 1 is currently facing issues.
Weather Differences Among Players
It was planned that the weather would change frequently, providing variety across different maps. For example, a sandstorm can follow clear visibility and calm winds, making it difficult for snipers to hit their targets. Ideally, the weather should be the same for every player during a match. If clear visibility exists, everyone should experience that clear visibility. If a sandstorm is occurring, every player should experience that sandstorm.
This image was uploaded by Reddit user Karlschlag . It shows 2 players facing each other during a battle. While the visibility on the right side of the image is severely restricted, the left side shows clear visibility. Ideally, the visibility in both cases should be the same.
The developers have not yet commented on this weather bug. However, it is possible that this issue will be fixed during the current server downtime.
