Officially, the test servers for Battlefield 1 have been confirmed. There, you can test patches in advance and provide your feedback to the developers.
Test servers in Battlefield 1 are called Community Test Environment. These servers were already important for the developers, the community, and thus for the game in previous installments of the series. Just like Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline, Battlefield 1 will also have a Community Test Environment. Although there is no exact release date for it yet, it is said by DICE employee “Striterax” that it will be completed as soon as possible.
Battlefield 1 CTE for Better Communication
In the Battlefield Forum, PlebFlo wrote a post to Alexander “Striterax” Hassoon, in which he asks for better communication among other things. He states that one of the biggest problems with Battlefield 1 is the lack of communication between developers and the community.
Striterax has often shown his closeness to the community in the past by, for example, responding to comments on the Battlefield 1 subreddit. In the thread from PlebFlo, he agrees that communication is an important point. For this reason, a Community Test Environment has been developed where players and developers can work closely together.
There, one can discuss features and future changes and express criticism and suggestions for improvement in an open dialogue. Striterax writes that they are already working hard to activate a CTE for Battlefield 1. This is supposed to happen “as soon as possible” so that the developers can better discuss changes in the game with the players.
More precise details on the Battlefield 1 CTE are not yet clear. It is unclear whether this test environment will be accessible to every player, or whether there are special requirements for it. As soon as there is news about it, we will inform you.
