We show you how to create a squad in Battlefield 1 and what advantages you get from it.
In Battlefield 1, you have the option to either play as a lone wolf in multiplayer mode or join a squad. A squad offers you many advantages in the game that can be worth your while. Besides easier coordination in the game, you receive additional experience points for many actions during a battle.
Creating a squad – Maximum squad size
Once you have chosen a game mode, you can decide whether to join a squad or create your own. Squads consist of up to 5 players, displayed to you on the map in green (default setting). This is the maximum squad size.
On the “Create” button, you can start your own squad and automatically become its leader. If you want to join an already existing squad, you only need to click on the plus symbol next to the desired squad. If you are in a group with your friends, you are automatically in a squad that is locked to other players. As a leader, you can remove this lock to add more players to the squad.
Additional experience is gained for various actions while you are in a squad. For example, if you equip a squad member with a supply soldier, you gain bonus experience. Healing squad members or repairing their vehicles also grants you further experience points. Listening to your squad leader’s commands and achieving certain objectives brings you many additional experience points as well.
Spawn points are an important factor in the various game modes of Battlefield 1. When you are in a squad, you can respawn not only at the standard points after dying, but also at your squad members. If a squad mate spawns with you in the game, you gain additional experience points.
Strategy is important
If you belong to a squad, you should try to stay close to your squad mates. If you follow the leader’s commands, it helps if your teammates have the same objective in mind that you are pursuing. This also makes it easier for support and medics to distribute ammunition or healing. Good coordination is one of the most important prerequisites for winning a battle in Battlefield 1. As a lone wolf, you usually have little chance.
